MAKUENI teacher arrested for running fake Facebook account

 DETECTIVES in Makueni County have arrested a teacher who has been using a fake Facebook account purporting to be that of the TSC. He had alleged that Teachers Service Commission chief executive officer was dead.

Jeremiah Mwavuganga Samuel, 31 teaches at Musiini Primary School in Makueni county. He has been working in the school for four years.

Police confirmed that he was arrested yesterday at Makutano Shopping Centre in Nzaui, Makueni County.

Upon his arrest, Mwavuganga - who has been a teacher at the said school for four years - was found in possession of the handset used in creating the viral post. The Facebook account used was also confirmed to be his”, reads a statement from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in part.

The suspect was born and raised in Wundanyi, Taita Taveta County.

 He was taken to DCI headquarters awaiting charges tomorrow in court.

The DCI has warned those who misuse social media platforms by writing misleading messages aimed at causing humiliation, blackmailing and defrauding unsuspecting netizens.
