DP Ruto says that he is focusing on farmers and small-scale businessmen to uplift them from poverty.

“The bottom-up economic agenda is a plan for economic growth that begins at the community level with the farmer and the small trader”, said the country’s second in command.

The DP was accompanied by UDA chairman Johnstone Muthama and three Ukambani MPs as well as other national leaders. They included Musyoka of Mwala, Dr Victor Munyaka from Machakos town and Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East).

Dr Ruto believes that hustlers are the drivers of economic activities in all parts of the country. He promised to ensure their empowerment for a better livelihood.

According to an itinerary shared by MP Vincent Musyoka Musau alias Kawaya, DP Ruto is set to end his Machakos County tour in Joska Market.

The caravan started in Donyo Sambuk at 9am then proceeded to Tala town in 10.20am.

Later, they visited Kangundo, Kivani market and Kakuyuni. After that they will proceed to Kathiani town at 340pm as well as have a stopover at Mitaboni town at 5pm before concluding in Joska Market.
