UKAMBANI Governors hold Strategy Meeting ahead of Mass Voter Registration

 Ukambani county governors have held a meeting in Machakos town aimed at sensitizing the residents of Kitui, Machakos and Makueni counties to turn up in large numbers in registering as voters in the upcoming voter registration exercise.

IEBC aims to begin mass voter registration on January 17 this year.

The trio will hold other leaders meeting on Wednesday January 12 from 10am in Machakos. The second meeting will comprise of political leaders, religious leaders, professionals, women, youth and former elected leaders.

In an apparent swipe at Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s position as regional kingpin, the governors hint at discussing their political future.

A letter seen by Mwingi Times reads in part, “The leaders will also discuss the political future of the region ahead of the 2022 General elections”.

The statement was signed by Dr Alfred Mutua, Prof Kivutha Kibwana and Charity Ngilu for Machakos, Makueni and Kitui counties respectively.
