The first accident involved a car that Apostle Nicholas Ikui of ATG Mlolongo was in. It hit a donkey near Mutwangombe market while the other vehicle whose occupants included Rev. Oscar Joseph and Rev. Daniel Kiiti respectively of ATG churches at Voi and Tala had a head-on smash with a lorry a Kavaini area along the same road.

Ironically, the clergymen were coming from cleansing prayers for the scene of the December 4 Enziu Bridge Bus tragedy where 32 people including Catholic Church choir members drowned.

The Mutwangombe accident occurred at around 7.30 pm causing the car to lose one of its headlights while that of Kavaini happened at around 8pm leaving the vehicle front extensively damaged.

The Archbishop of the Messiahship Celebration Centre in Mwingi Rev. Julius Nyerere who was coordinating the Enziu interdenominational prayers at Enziu River thanked God for saving his colleagues' lives.

"Hapa ni Mungu ameokoa my colleagues. May God fight for us all those who attended the prayers," he said.

Kitui Senator Enoch Kiio Wambua, Kenya's High Commissioner to Uganda Julius Kiema Kilonzo and Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi attended the prayer session that was meant to exorcise the  Enziu tragedy site of killer ghosts.

Thus, Wambua has condemned the recent spate of accidents that have been witnessed in Kitui County.

He urged residents to pray saying that the devil's work is to steal, kill and destroy.

Former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu's driver was involved in a road accident too this month as well as a diver who saved Enziu bus passenger but died mysteriously.
