Constitution

“I aver to carry out the three cardinal functions of this office; namely legislation, representation and oversight pursuant to the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and the subsequent County government laws,” he added.

Mr Mutambu, a staunch African Inland Church (AIC) congregant, unsuccessfully vied for Mwingi West Parliamentary seat in 2013 losing the seat to Bernard Kitungi.

Mr. Kitungi, now a board member of the Communication and Technology Authority would later in 2017 be trounced by the youthful Charles Nguna popularly known as CNN.

The former St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School tutor joins an already congested race for the vast Kyome/Thaana Ward.

Regional voting pattern of the ward might however favour his candidature after the incumbent area MCA Alex Wambua who comes from the same region as Mr Mutambu announced to vie for Mwingi parliamentary seat.

Mr. Mutambu is poised to square with among others the former area MCA Joyce Mwende.  Other handful of names in the offing for the seat are majorly of youthful aspirants who are yet to officially declare their interests.
