FOUR Tharaka University College students drown in River Kathita

 Four students from Tharaka University College drowned this evening in River Kathita at a spot called Ndia Iri as they were trying to swim.

Divers retrieved one dead body of one of the students who were involved in the unfortunate incidence.

By the time Mwingi Times went to press, the bodies of remaining three had not been retrieved.

Mr Muthengi Ndagara, a journalist, revealed that the three were one girl and two boys.

A staff who works at the college told Mwingi Times that one student died at the same river last year. “We have lost four students who have drowned in River Kathita. Last year, we lost one in the same issue”, said the worker who requested not to be named because he is not the official spokesperson of the Chuka University college.
