Mwingi North MP Eng Paul Nzengu has assured residents of his constituency that he will ensure Wikithuki Irrigation Scheme gets fully funded for it to maximize its potential.
There are proposals to have solarization and use of gravitational water follow to cut down the cost of running the expansive scheme.
Eng Malili sits in the Parliamentary committee for Environment, Water and Irrigation.
The Senate Committee led by the chairman Njeru Ndwiga (Embu Senator) toured Wikithuki Irrigation Scheme. Ndwiga was accompanied by his vice chair Enoch Wambua (Kitui Senator), Irene Kasalu (Kitui MP) and Kitui County Assembly Committee on Agriculture, among other local and national leaders.
