Kitui MP to pay varsity fee for needy student

Kitui Women Representative Dr Irene Kasalu has offered to sponsor Joshua Savali Kithikii’s who is set to join Meru University of Science and Technology to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture.

“I can relate to the plight of this student. Kindly share contacts of this needy bright student. I will sponsor fully his university tuition”, the MP wrote in a story published by Sharptip News entitled: Mother selling Acacia pods to raise fees for son to join university.

The young man could not join his university of choice due to lack of school fees. Joshua Savali Kithikii scored a mean grade of B- at Ngieni Day secondary school at Nuu ward, Mwingi East Sub County in Kitui County.

His mother, Mary Kithikii, calling upon well-wishers to support him.

The third born in a family of seven is the first one to reach a level of being called to an institution of higher learning.  He is also the first one to complete Form Four in his family.

To be admitted in Meru University on September 20, Joshua will be required to pay Sh25,300. The second semester will have less fees of Sh17,200.

To fundraise for Kithikii’s fees, the family set up a Safaricom pay bill number 400200 to help them in that activity.
