Get ready, we are coming, Kalonzo tells Kambas ahead of Uhuru visit

After ironing out the bickering and supremacy battles that characterised two failed trips of President Uhuru Kenyatta to Ukambani counties, all is set for Friday’s visit by the president.

Today, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka did a pre-inspection visit to ensure all was set for Friday’s visit by the Head of State.

Some of the key areas he will visit are Konza technology city in Machakos county where the president will inspect the progress of the multibillion shillings project.

From Konza, the president will head to Thwake dam in the neighbouring county of Makueni. The Sh43Billion water storage facility is expected to serve more than a million people in an area that has experienced perennial drought spells in the past.

The presidential itinerary will also camp at Kibwezi-Mutomo-Kitui road where they will inspect the infrastructure expected to transform the lives of residents for both Kitui and Makueni.

Kalonzo did not waste the opportunity to stamp his authority as the regional supremo saying he is the one with the ultimate strategy going into 2022 elections. “Sisi tuko. Nani hajui Wiper ilinyorosha hata wheelbarrows hivi juzi tu Machakos? And who is the leader of that? That was the political strategy. The rest are jokers”, said the senior counsel Musyoka.

In the first term of president Uhuru Kenyatta, some regions were neglected by the national government and his charm offensive to perceived opposition regions are an indication of balancing development prospects regardless of political party affiliation.
