BREAKING: Kitui Governor Ngilu admitted at Nairobi Hospital with Covid-19

Kitui Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu has been admitted in Nairobi Hospital with Covid-19. This has been revealed by her Machakos counterpart Dr Alfred Mutua who was attending a Music Festival at Ndakaini.

Present was ODM leader Raila Odinga among other dignitaries.

“We want to remember our sister Charity Ngilu. She did not manage to be here today. She has contracted Covid. She has told me to tell you that she has contracted Covid-19. She is admitted at Nairobi Hospital but she had planned to be with us here”, said Dr Mutua.

Mutua called upon Kenyans to exercise Covid-19 regulations which will reduce the rates of transmission.

“Let us take care of ourselves. Covid is with everyone”, that’s what the Kitui governor told her colleague.

Some of the Covid-19 prevention measures are washing hands with soap and water, avoiding crowds and wearing face masks when in public places like political rallies and public transport vehicles.

Most public hospitals in Kitui County  are battling a sorry state of preparedness to curb the global pandemic. In Mwingi Level Four Hospital, services are literally grounded.

A resident who had a sick child was last night sent to a private hospital for simple tests where she had to pay Sh2,000. The patient could not be served at the local public hospital which is the biggest in the larger Mwingi region.
