Young man amazes Kitui journalists with his reporting skills

A young man from Kitui Central Sub County has stunned a battery of Kitui County reporters with his admiration for journalism profession.

IN SUMMARY

·         The ever-smiling boy is a Grade One pupil at Kalawa primary school

·         Brian is the last-born in a family of three. The other siblings are all girls

·         His namesake, Brian Musyoka Malila advised parents to be spotting the talents of their sons and daughters and nurturing them in order to benefit the children and the family, community.

Brian Nicko Musyoka has taken to imitating his namesake who works with County FM. Being a fan of the Kamba radio station, Brian even knows the frequency of the radio station and its signature tunes.

Like all other students, Brian is out of school due to Covid-19 pandemic. He is a Grade One pupil at Kalawa primary school.

The young man is blessed with two beautiful sisters. The trio are children of Mr Nicko and Ms Damaris Musyoka.

According to a Teachers Service Commission’s directive, head teachers are supposed to report back to school tomorrow for reopening of schools which were closed in March this year over coronavirus.

Brian Musyoka Malila who works with County FM has a commanding voice in radio and many children admire his reporting and mastery of Kamba language. He is among the best reporters in Kamba radios across the board.

Speaking to Mwingi Times, Brian Musyoka Malila said that parents should be keen in spotting the talents of their children from early in life.

“What I can say is that in journalism, reporters should be dedicated while at work. Parents should help their children who have such talent in order to nurture these talents. Going by his presentation skills, Brian Nicko Musyoka has a talent and can make a great journalist”, says Brian Musyoka Malila.

Mentorship

Malila says he will visit the boy one day in order to have a face to face discussion with him.

Mr Malila also writes news for County Review newspaper which covers Mt Kenya East Counties. He is based at Embu County.
