Mwingi Central MP differs with Ukambani senators on revenue sharing formula

By Admin

Mwingi central MP Dr. Gideon Mulyungi has differed with Ukambani senator over the preferred revenue sharing formula being supported by the wiper party.

The three Ukambani senators; Senator Enoch Wambua of Kitui county, Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr of Makueni and Senator Boniface Kabaka of Machakos, have been supporting a formula which will ensure that no county would lose any money as suggested by Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja. The three senators also voted against the proposal by Murang’a senator Irungu Kang’ata branded ‘One man, one vote, one shilling” which would have seen several counties lose huge amounts of money.

Mulyungi who was speaking at Mwingi during the launch of fitting of high voltage street lights at Mwingi town to improve security, said that the wiper party committed itself in a cooperation agreement with Jubilee party under the leadership of president Uhuru Kenyatta, hence the party would always be in support of Jubilee party’s stance on all government policies.

“As our party leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has been saying, Wiper Party NEC approved our cooperation agreement with the jubilee party and It would only prudent if we support everything as approved by the Jubilee Party,” said Dr. Mulyungi.

The legislator said that the wiper party is even working on a possibility of entering into a political coalition with the ruling party so as to throw more weight behind the president’s agenda for the nation.

“We are now finalizing plans on how we can enter into a coalition with the Jubilee party, so that we can effectively assist the president in achieving his agenda for the nation,” added the legislator.

On 2022 politics, the legislator said that Wiper’s strategy is to work well with president Uhuru till he retires from politics, then they would stand a better chance of getting endorsement from him, which will see the Wiper party leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka inherit the seat as the president of this nation.

“Of course, there are many gains for our party if we support President Kenyatta. Definitely we shall get a soft landing in securing his support for our presidential hopeful Mr. Musyoka, from President Uhuru who by 2022 would be retiring from politics,” He added.

End.
