Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna has lauded the Directorate of
Criminal Investigations (DCI) for putting key suspects in including senior
government officials on the wanted list, in connection to the Kimwarer and Arror
dam scandal where billions of money are thought to have been fraudulently lost.
Mr. Nguna’s remarks comes just a day after the Cabinet
Secretary in charge of National Treasury Henry Rotich accompanied by other
senior officials in the ministry presented themselves before the DCI for
questioning, moments after arrest warrants were issued against them.
Speaking during at Kikiini primary school during
distribution of development cheuqes to various schools in Migwani Sub County,
the area MP lauded the President assisted by other crime fighting agencies for
his steadfastness in the war against corruption, saying that the interdiction
of CS Rotich is a clear signal of the seriousness of the president in winning
the war.
Mr. Nguna said that it was a shame that few individuals
would dare misuse money meant for actualizing development in the country, and
stern actions ought to be taken to curb graft.
He said that it was high time to see the “Big Fish” in
government going down in connection to the public funds they have stolen.
The legislator urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure that
all corrupt individuals in the country are prosecuted and all public money
which had been embezzled returned.
