IT’S TIME FOR NASA TO DIVORCE, WE ARE FED UP WITH ODM THEATRICS, MULYUNGI

Mwingi central MP Dr Gideon Mulyungi has warned for a possible eviction of ODM party from the NASA coalition, this is after the ODM party senators yesterday ganged up to overthrow senator Moses Wetangula as the minority leader in senate and replaced him with senator for Siaya James Orengo.

The remarks came few days amid clear signals of a possible split within NASA, since the peace agreement between the opposition chief Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The act of the ODM party to evict Mr Wetangula who is a co-principal of NASA from the Minority leader’s post has generated a lot of uproar among members of other affiliate parties within NASA, and threatened to permanently split the coalition which of late has been quite unstable due to 2022 politics among other wrangles.

Speaking at Kalisasi in Mwingi central constituency in Kitui County where he issued planting seeds to farmers and bursary cheques worthy 20 million to needy students across his constituency on Wednesday, Dr Mulyungi likened the relationship between ODM party and other affiliate parties forming NASA coalition to an abusive marriage whose end result can only be a divorce.

“It has come a time for this marriage to divorce, ODM must leave us and join Jubilee if they have resolved to work with the government for their selfish gains,” Said Dr Mulyungi.

Mr Mulyungi warned that failure of the ODM party to reinstate Senator Wetangula as the senate minority leader, dire consequences will follow and they will be evicted from the coalition after which Wiper party, ANC and FORD Kenya will form the official opposition.

“The four NASA co-principals should sit down and agree on the fate of Mr Wetangula, mere senators should not be allowed to ruin the future of NASA,” said the legislator.

The legislator termed opposition’s cohabiting with the government as political prostitution which the Wiper Party won’t be party to.

He said that the Wiper Party has always been calling for dialogue among leaders in the country, but the process of dialogue should be well outlined and agreed upon among all principals, both in NASA and Jubilee.

“Our party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has always been calling for dialogue, however the dialogue we want must we well defined and agreed upon by all NASA principals, ODM party alone cannot purport to represent the interest of the entire coalition,” pointed out Mr Mulyungi.

During campaigns for Wiper Party candidate for Kitui West parliamentary seat which was attended by the three principals of NASA; Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula, the trio warned ODM against dethroning Mr Wetangula alluding that such a thing would be met with dire consequences.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka claimed that Senator Moses Wetangula was the ‘glue’ holding NASA together, meaning that any malicious act against him would ruin the unity of the coalition.

“People say that I’m the one who holds NASA together, but Senator Wetangula is even the glue that hold us together, hence any attempt by ODM to dethrone him won’t be tolerated,” Warned Mr Musyoka.
