Mwingi Central MP asks Uhuru to "stop dictatorship"

BY BONIFACE MWANIKI
Mwingi Central MP Dr. Gideon Mulyungi has called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to "stop being dictatorial" and invite opposition leader Raila Odinga for dialogue, as this is the only to move this country forward in unity.

Addressing journalists at Mwingi Cottage Hotel, Mulyungi said that the Wiper party is in full support of the paused event to swear in Raila Odinga as the peoples’ president. This is because too few people participated in the 26th October repeat presidential elections; hence they still feel that Raila should be their president.

“As the Kamba community, we are strongly behind NASA’s decision to swear in Raila Odinga as our president and although it was postponed in the last minute, we won’t hesitate to do so in future if Uhuru Kenyatta doesn’t call Raila Odinga for dialogue,” said Dr. Mulyungi.

The legislator said that unless president Uhuru calls for ceasefire and embrace dialogue, it won’t be long before NASA fraternity calls for peoples’ self-determination and swear in Raila Odinga as their president.

“We only recognize Raila Amollo Odinga as the legitimately elected president of Kenya, and unless the government is ready to hear us we will resist,” warned Mulyungi
He said that Kenyans must not be forced into any course, but they should be consulted in any step that the government takes which is only possible through dialogue between leaders.
